Apparently Brad Pitt has given Angelina Jolie an ultimatum – marriage or it’s not going to work. OK! magazine has reported today that allegedly Brad is sick and tired of looking after their 6 children alone whist Jolie pursues her movie career. Apparently Pitt wants more kids, but not before the couple make it official.

Our April Movie Star!

 

He’s been all over the press recently. Whether it’s about him quitting the Footloose project, collecting teen movie awards or performing at the Oscars, Zac Efron is dominating the news right now and is our movie star of April. It seems only fair we nominate him as his new movie, 17 again, is set for release on April 10. We’ll see Efron moving away from his High School Musical roots in this quirky family comedy (see trailers).

So why else should he be our movie star? We thought his peformance alongside Hugh Jackman, Vanessa Hudgens and Beyonce at the Oscars was pretty decent. HSM 3 was recently released on dvd and again show cased his great voice, hot dance moves and acting skills (albeit a little cheesy at times). His lead character in Hairspray was by far one of his greatest appearances and to add to all of that – have you seen his front cover shoot for Rolling Stone? All in all, there’s not a lot this teen star can do wrong at the moment, and with his new movie about to hit our screens, we think he is the rightful owner of the award this month!

Nate to Footloose?

Chace Crawford set to star in Footloose?

If the rumours are true, we’re sure the new Footloose film is going to attract a LOT of female attention. E News has reported that Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford has auditioned for the lead part in the 1980’s remake and could be taking the spotlight. Crawford currently plays hot Nate Archibald in the CW drama series GG. The rumours come after teen actor Zac Efron dropped out of the movie as he apparently didn’t want to be type cast.

Steve Carell in new comedy

Funny guy Steve Carell – most known by us as having his chest waxed in 40 year old virgin – is set to star in a new Warner Bros comedy. It will be an adaptation of the novel Dumped and will follow the life story of a man after he’s dumped by his wife.

Twilight best seller

It’s official – the massively successful adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire love story has topped the dvd charts! Twilight has become the most popular selling dvd this year, having sold over 5 and a half million copies in it’s first week in the US! Talk about blood thirsty fans…

Best on screen kiss?

This weeks question is undoubtedly one of the hardest. With so many amazing love stories on screen, how can we possibly choose? But the question we are posing – given it’s a toughie, is who would you award with the best on screen kiss of all time? Whether it’s as obvious as Leo Dicaprio and Claire Danes in that lift scene in the 90’s remake of Romeo and Juliet or as obscure as Will Smith teaching Kevin James to smooch on a doorstep in Hitch, we want to know what you think! Here’s a few of our favourites:

The Notebook

* Anne Hathaway in Princess Diaries, when she finally gets that ‘toe curling’ kiss

* Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in that rain scene from The Notebook ‘It wasn’t over…it still isn’t over!’

* Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey in How To Lose a Guy in Ten Days. The bathroom scene where they realise they have finally fallen for each other – cute!

* Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in 50 First Dates – because we’re sure no one has had that many first kisses!

* Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth in the snow (and in pants) in Bridget Jones Diary, after he forgives her for verbally bashing him in her diary

How to lose a guy in ten days

* Chad Michael Murray and Hilary Duff in a Cinderella Story – the rain scene

* Martine Mccutcheon and Hugh Grant in Love Actually – because we cracked up watching it when the stage curtain fell down!

So what about our winner? It has to go to Julia Roberts and Richard Gere in the ultimate rom com Pretty Woman. You spend the entire film watching the relationship between the pair blossom whilst never actually seeing them kiss. Remember when Vivienne admits that kissing on the lips is ‘too personal’? You get to see the duo in some raunchy on screen shots but it’s never romantic – that is until the kiss.

It comes after Vivienne and Edward spend the afternoon together playing happy couples and they both realise they have fallen for each other. Whilst Edward lays on the bed asleep, Vivienne pecks his cheek tenderly before planting a big kiss on his lips, when Edward wakes up…if you haven’t seen it (where have you been?) then we’re sure you can guess what happens next. The fact that the film starts off as Edward supposedly trying to save Vivienne, and ends with her actually saving him, adds to the overall amazingness of the flick. And it’s for that reason Pretty Woman is our winner for best on screen kiss of all time!

McConaughey signs up

Movie star Matthew McConaughey has signed up to star in new thriller The Lincoln Lawyer – based on the book by Michael Connelly. We at Twenty4Seven loved his performance in How to lose a guy in ten days, Edtv and even his cocky appearance in the series of Sex and the city (the majority being chick comedies). So we’re looking forward to seeing him in a change of pace – he’ll play Mickey Haller, a low level lawyer. A manipulative criminal, Haller finds his life in danger after he begins working with a rich client – bit of a contrast from his character in How to… Princess Sophia anyone?

Engaged?

Jake Gyllenhaal is a good boyfriend. Not only has he been travelling side by side with Reese Witherspoon during her promotional tour, but he’s also allegedly bought her a whopping ring…and it’s rumoured it was for her engagement finger… It’s not been confirmed, but we love gossip!

New addition to New Moon

Brit actor Jamie Campbell-Bower has signed up to be a part of the mega successful Twilight series. He’ll play Volturi leader Caius in the sequel New Moon, set to be released in November.

Pegg joins cast of Ice Age

We love Ice Age and we love Simon Pegg. So imagine our delight when we heard the Hot Fuzz star has signed up to play one of the voices in Ice Age 3 – set to be released this summer. He’ll play a one eyed weasel named Buck. This has to be great news for the British actor as he’s already been in plenty of hit movies – most recently How to lose friends and alienate people. He’s also about to star in Star Trek!
